Meet TOBY DASTUGUE

Certified Bourbon Professional, Bartender

A man with long hair and a beard, dressed in black, sitting on a blue couch and smiling, holding a certificate from the Council of Whiskey Masters.

We want to give a BIG round of applause to our bartender Toby Dastugue for passing his Certified Bourbon Professional Test!

He has studied extensively about the history of bourbon, whiskey regions of America, modern bourbon production and much more!

We asked him a few questions to better understand his commitment to the spirit and his craft as a bartender…

Q: What peaked your interest in bourbon?

A: “ The Rack House, I started learning about bourbon the day I was hired. I became thirsty for information and bourbon all within the same day.”

Q: This is a loaded question, but what’s your favorite bourbon or type of bourbon?

A: “My favorite bourbon is probably Woodford Reserve Double Oaked. I tend to gravitate to barrel/cask strength products when I’m looking for something different.”

Q: If you could visit any distillery, which one would it be?

A: “The Woodford Distillery is a must visit for me, but I also want to visit Buffalo Trace as well. I enjoy products and history of both, and I would love to learn directly from their staff.

Congratulations on your certification - we are excited to have you and your knowledge at the Rack House! You can usually find Toby behind our upstairs bars. Feel free to chat with him, and talk bourbon - any time.
